Appearing with a project rooted in lived experience, “Rich Immigrant” stands as both the title track and a six-song body of work from Jamaican–Puerto Rican dancehall act Bena González, unveiled on May 1, 2026.

Built on raw storytelling and cultural fusion, the EP captures the emotional weight of relocation and the determination it takes to thrive in unfamiliar territory. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing and dual heritage, Bena González blends dancehall rhythms with contemporary influences, creating a sound that feels both grounded and globally aware.

At its core, the project unfolds like a memoir. Described by the artist as “six chapters” of her life, each track reflects a distinct phase of her journey—from leaving home and navigating uncertainty to finding stability and purpose in London. Her lyrics dig into themes of sacrifice, ambition, identity, and survival, offering listeners an unfiltered look into the realities of immigrant life.

Beyond the music, “Rich Immigrant” also highlights her evolution outside the studio. What began as a move with limited resources gradually transformed into a story of growth, as she built entrepreneurial ventures alongside her rising presence in music.

This dual success adds depth to the EP’s message, reinforcing the idea that perseverance and vision can reshape even the toughest beginnings into something meaningful and impactful.
