Nigerian Afrobeat icon Seun Kuti and his renowned band Egypt 80 have returned with “Problems,” a stirring new collaboration featuring acclaimed Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist Kabaka Pyramid.
Officially released on July 29, 2026, the record delivers a compelling blend of Afrobeat and reggae while reinforcing a message of unity, resistance, and social consciousness.
Built on hypnotic rhythms, rolling percussion, a driving bassline, and the unmistakable Egypt 80 horn arrangements, Problems seamlessly combines Seun Kuti’s commanding vocal delivery with Kabaka Pyramid’s thought-provoking lyricism. Produced by Femi Koleoso of Ezra Collective and expertly engineered and mixed by Riley MacIntyre, the song confronts systemic injustice and the struggles faced by marginalized communities across the globe.
The release also serves as the B-side of a special collector’s 7-inch vinyl, with the A-side featuring “Na Dem,” Seun Kuti’s politically charged collaboration with Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. Before its worldwide release, Problems received an early live preview during SWS Session 001, recorded at Soundwall Studios in Rome and premiered through Billboard Italia.
