THE ANTHEM FOR THE UNDEFEATED
“Rich Immigrant mi wah fi be dat / Wah stink a di money pocket affi fat”
After arriving in the UK, only to have her startup life savings stolen and to face a grueling battle with the immigration system, Bena González didn’t just survive; she evolved. “Rich Immigrant” is the high-octane, defiant lead single and title track of her upcoming EP. Moving away from the “victim” narrative, Bena flips the script, claiming her space as a “1 inna 3 million” success story.
THE VISUAL: FROM BABYLON TO PUGLIA
The cinematic music video for “Rich Immigrant” marks a historic moment in Bena’s journey. Directed by the legendary Hot Money (Owner of Hot Money Studios, whose credits include Central Cee, Stormzy, Stefflon Don, Stylo G, and Valiant), the visual was captured in August 2025.
This was Bena’s first trip outside of the UK after her immigration status was finally granted. Filmed against the stunning backdrop of Puglia, Italy, the video represents the literal and metaphorical “Resurrection” of an artist who was once told she couldn’t leave the borders of her struggle.
QUOTES FOR PRESS
“As an island girl, I desperately needed the sunshine and the blue waters. The trip to Puglia, Italy gave me life and was a reminder about how much world there is to see.” — Bena González
“This song is for the dreamers who were met with closed doors. I’ve been at rock bottom, I’ve been the ‘alien’ in the system, but my spirit was never broke. ‘Rich Immigrant’ is about turning that trauma into a kingdom.” — Bena González
THE SONIC PEDIGREE
“Rich Immigrant” was recorded and mixed at the world-renowned Hot Money Studios. With Hot Money’s touch, known for bridging the gap between authentic Jamaican Dancehall (Tony Rebel, Epik Jones) and the cutting edge of the UK scene, the track delivers a polished, global sound ready for heavy rotation.
