The project, released on August 7, 2026, marks a major shift from his signature emotional and melancholic “emo-Afrobeats” style, introducing a more energetic sound built around confidence, street culture, and the vibrant rhythm of Lagos.

Recorded at Boyfriend Music Studios in Lagos, “BANGER BOY” is inspired by authentic Nigerian street-dance sounds rather than following current trends.

Drawing influence from his experiences across Lagos Mainland communities, including Surulere, Ogba, and Gbagada, CKay creates a project that celebrates movement, nightlife, and the raw energy of West African music.
