South African Maskandi artist UMfulongashi embraces the depth of Zulu tradition with his latest project, “Le KwaMashu EP,” officially released on August 3, 2026.
The four-track body of work delivers a soulful journey through cultural storytelling, emotional expression, and the timeless sounds of traditional Zulu music blended with modern Maskandi elements.
Running for approximately 16 minutes, the EP highlights themes of home, love, identity, and the challenges of everyday life.
UMfulongashi is joined by talented collaborators including Khayah Donda, Siphosenkosi, iNtandokazi kaMathe, Sizwe, uMjolisi Gwala, and Shenge Wasehlalankosi, who add depth and rich vocal textures to the project.
