Phoebe Bridgers takes a quieter, more atmospheric route with “Panorama,” the eighth track on her third studio album, Lost Weekend. Rather than pushing the emotional weight of the record forward, the song creates a moment of stillness, giving the album room to breathe.
The track opens without vocals, allowing its instrumental arrangement to gradually take shape. For nearly two minutes, sparkling piano, soft pulses, and hazy synth textures create a spacious soundscape before Bridgers’ voice eventually enters.
“Panorama” blends ambient experimentation with subtle folk touches. Banjo from Christian Lee Hutson and mandolin from Chris Thile add an organic warmth to the otherwise expansive production, while the layered arrangement gives the song a cinematic quality.
Produced by Bridgers alongside Tony Berg, Ethan Gruska, and Jack Antonoff, the track also features vocal arrangement work from Caroline Shaw. Together, they create a patient and immersive piece that feels less like a traditional song and more like a pause for reflection.
