South African Maskandi artist Malibongwe Zuma introduces a fresh chapter in his musical journey with “Ngiyababa,” a five-track EP officially released on August 19, 2026.
The project draws from traditional Zulu music while giving the sound a modern studio touch. Malibongwe uses the EP to showcase his energetic vocal delivery, sharp songwriting, and commitment to keeping the Shuni waMangcukumane style alive.
The title track, “Ngiyababa,” serves as the heart of the project. Malibongwe is joined by UMnotho, Mjabulisi, and JikiJiki, whose vocals and acoustic contributions add depth to the record and strengthen its traditional character.
