After the energetic call to action on “Show Workings,” Gaise Baba takes a more faith-centered direction with “Oruko,” the third track on his upcoming album God Is Cooking. The Yoruba title, meaning “The Name,” points directly to the song’s central message about the authority of Jesus.
Premiered on August 14, 2026, through 464 Projects and ONErpm, the solo record explores the power of Jesus’ name in the face of everyday struggles. Gaise Baba places issues such as anxiety, depression, illness, and other difficult experiences against a message of faith, hope, and divine authority.
Musically, “Oruko” showcases the artist’s ability to move between different African sounds without losing the spiritual focus of the song. Elements of Afro-house, Amapiano, and acoustic music blend with rhythmic songwriting, while Gaise Baba moves between English, Yoruba, and Nigerian Pidgin.
The result is a record that feels both devotional and contemporary. “Oruko” continues the progression of God Is Cooking by moving from the call to live out one’s faith into a reminder of the foundation behind that faith.
