Nigerian singer-songwriter Ayra Starr enters a new chapter with Starrgirl, her third studio album, released on August 14, 2026, through Mavin Records and Republic Records. The 16-track project reflects her growing international presence while introducing a broader and more adventurous sound.
The album title builds on Ayra Starr’s familiar “Sabi Girl” identity, transforming it into the more global “Starrgirl” persona. Across the project, she moves beyond conventional Afrobeats, experimenting with electronic textures, infectious pop influences, and energetic Bouyon rhythms.
Starrgirl also features an impressive lineup of collaborations. Wizkid joins Ayra Starr on “Gimme Dat,” while Rema appears on “Who’s Dat Girl.” She also teams up with ZAYN on “Heaven Baby” and Theodora on “Ms Paper,” the latter drawing inspiration from Dominican Bouyon.
The album opens with a distinctive cultural touch, featuring a traditional vocal intro from Nigerian artist Terry Apala. With its mix of Afrobeats, pop, electronic sounds, and Caribbean-inspired rhythms, Starrgirl presents Ayra Starr at a more expansive stage of her career.
