Enugu-born Nigerian rapper and singer Tuff King (King David Israel) introduced his musical identity with Black Sheepizen, a six-track debut EP released on June 30, 2024. The project established him as an artist willing to embrace his outsider status while turning experiences of struggle, rejection, resilience, and ambition into music.
Across roughly 15 minutes, Tuff King blends indigenous Igbo rap, Afrosounds, trap influences, and energetic percussion. His delivery carries the rawness of street rap while maintaining enough melody and rhythm to give the project a contemporary feel.
The title “Black Sheepizen” represents the idea of being different and refusing to conform. Rather than hiding from that identity, Tuff King uses it as a source of strength, documenting personal battles and the determination to keep moving forward despite setbacks.

The EP eventually became an important foundation for Tuff King’s career, helping draw attention from established Nigerian acts and setting the stage for his larger 2026 project, BLACK SHEEPIZEN (THE 13th DISCIPLE). That full-length release expanded on the themes introduced here and included notable songs such as “Suppressed Desires” and “Nkemakonam.”
With its direct storytelling, indigenous rap influence, and unapologetic attitude, Black Sheepizen remains an important early chapter in Tuff King’s journey from underground talent to a more recognized name in Nigerian hip-hop.
