Running for 4 minutes and 21 seconds, the solo track draws heavily from established Zulu folk and Maskandi traditions. Rapid acoustic guitar picking, traditional concertina phrases, and expressive cultural chants provide the musical foundation.

The title “Omahlalestolo” points toward themes connected to local shops or the people who gather around them. Ngidi uses the idea as a starting point for observations about everyday life, giving the song a strong storytelling and social-commentary angle.

His vocal delivery remains direct and expressive, allowing the narrative to take centre stage. Rather than relying on elaborate production, the record uses familiar Maskandi instrumentation and rhythmic movement to carry its message.

As the third track on Oshiphigwebu, “Omahlalestolo” adds another layer of traditional storytelling to the project. Its combination of cultural commentary, acoustic instrumentation, and energetic vocal phrasing makes it a strong representation of Zanefa Ngidi’s Maskandi style.
