KATSEYE explores a softer and more emotional side of their sound with “Bel Air,” a layered pop ballad that gives the group room to focus on expressive vocals and harmonies. The song is the fourth track on their third EP, WILD, and is officially released on August 14, 2026.
Coming after the project’s more energetic material, “Bel Air” provides a noticeable change in pace. Its slower arrangement allows the members’ individual vocal tones to come forward while their harmonies give the song a fuller and more emotional quality.
The track also carries an interesting history within pop music. “Bel Air” seemed originally written by Charli xcx in December 2013 during the development of her second studio album, SUCKER.
The unreleased song later gained additional attention because electronic music producer SOPHIE had worked on a version of the track. Her involvement added to the song’s long-standing appeal and helped turn it into a notable piece of pop music history.
Years later, HYBE and Geffen Records secured the song and gave it a new direction for KATSEYE. Producers Stefan Gräslund, Patrik Berger, and Martin Stilling rebuilt the production, transforming the previously unreleased material into a polished pop ballad suited to the group.
With its emotional atmosphere, layered vocals, and unusual journey from an unreleased Charli xcx song to a KATSEYE recording, “Bel Air” is shaping up to be one of the most distinctive moments on WILD. It gives the EP a quieter, more vulnerable dimension while showcasing the group’s vocal range.
